Laquestar was born under a shooting star at 2.20 in the morning, way back in October 2010.

Her sire was Laurie’s A and her dam was Northern Veronique (Que). While Georgie Cham was waiting for the little foal to stand up to have her first drink, a shooting star, blue and bright, shot across the night sky and lit up the landscape around them. LA QUE STAR or Lacey for short.

Georgie raised Lacey, broke her, trained her, and rode her in competition from age 4 to 14. Together, they won Queensland State Titles and were placed many times nationally, from Young Horse Classes to Grand Prix.

Lacey was a beautiful animal. Always loving and reliable.

Georgie remembers the time she broke both ankles and was bedridden for seven months. When she was finally allowed to go out into the paddock in a wheelchair, Lacey came running over to her, put her head in her lap, and they hugged. It felt like a forever hug.

In 2024, Georgie and her husband had their first holiday to Europe and were away for six weeks. While they were away, Lacey developed Laminitis from Cushing’s disease. Georgie came home and provided her with 24-hour care for 3 months.

She finally let her go on the second of October 2024.

Barely a day goes by that Georgie doesn’t stop and think of Lacey at least once.

The braided rings shown above are made in yellow gold with diamonds and Sterling Silver with black diamonds. All braided rings are made to measure, and a silver model will be made to ensure the correct finger size and width.

To create the braid, we require enough hair that, when twisted, it is the thickness of a pencil, with a minimum length of 30 centimetres, preferably longer.

We can create braids of different widths in a variety of hair colours. We are happy to provide sample braids prior to designing the jewellery. All unused hair will be returned.
